Questions worm farmers ask
Will it work in worm bedding and castings, not just soil?
Yes. The probe reads the material around it, so you can use it in bedding, compost, castings and soil. Moisture, temperature and EC are direct measurements. Readings in loose, coarse or very dry material can vary with how well the probe makes contact, so push it in firmly and take a few readings in different spots.
What moisture, temperature and pH should I aim for?
That depends on your worm species, bedding and setup, so treat TerraWorm as a way to compare your own beds over time. Most composting worm growers aim for beds that are moist but not waterlogged, in a moderate temperature range, and close to neutral pH. Use the trends from your best-performing beds as your own reference.
Can I test worm juice or other liquids with it?
TerraWorm is designed for soil, bedding, castings and similar materials. It is not designed for testing liquid fertilisers such as worm juice or leachate.
Do I need a phone, app download or subscription?
No. The kit includes a dedicated touchscreen display with the standard app pre-installed. The standard experience includes live readings, interpretation, trend charts and unlimited readings with no subscription. Optional Pro features can be added later.
